The sermon from Sunday, October 14, (“Through the Eye of a Needle“) has been uploaded onto our sermon page (see Community menu above). This reflection ponders our relationship to wealth and the cost of letting go of what gets between us, God, and each other — why couldn’t the rich man give up his wealth and privilege to follow Jesus?
Our Book Study group resumes this Thursday, September 6. We’ll be reading “The Tao of Pooh.”
In the Spring of 2017, the Phoenix Community Church and the Southwest Association hosted a well-loved workshop led by Rev. Janice Jean Springer titled “I Know We’re All Welcome at the Table, But Do I Have to Sit Next to You?” Rev. Springer has now published a book by the same title from Energion Publications. Follow the link to purchase directly from the publisher or buy from your favorite book source.
The latest Flamings Newsletter will be in your email inbox bright and early on Friday, August 31, 2018. If you can’t wait another day, you can also read it here.
We worshiped in the sanctuary this week (instead of the fellowship hall) even though the floor isn’t quite done yet. This will now be the permanent location for our 6 pm Sunday worship so come check it out!
The lastest newsletter will arrive in your mail box on Friday morning, August 10! Click here to read it online now.
Many thanks to Howard and Steve for hosting a cook-out after worship last Sunday! A great time was had by all!
